I initially started cycling in order to honor a loved one through a charity ride. I did raise a good amount of money that day, but I was the one who really benefited by discovering cycling! I never enjoyed any exercise until I discovered the challenge and exhilaration of cycling and it’s changed my life. Becoming involved with Hb has taken this all to another level because it’s such a fantastic, motivating, and supportive group that has become like another family to me.

While I've always had an interest in cycling, I didn't do much of it as an adult. However, after investing in a quality bike and becoming a member of the Club, my passion for riding has taken off. It's not just about the health benefits; it's also about being part of a community of individuals who share similar cycling interests and motivations. Being a part of the club not only helped me develop the proper cycling skills but I have also made some good friends along the way. I look forward to continuing to be a part of this club in the years to come.

As with so many of us, I rediscovered cycling as an adult when searching for a way to stay in shape and deal with the stresses of everyday life. Having practiced yoga and weight work for years, cycling brought a new dimension to my active lifestyle. I discovered AOCCNJ in 2016 and quickly found a group of welcoming cyclists ready to encourage me and share their knowledge of group riding. I quickly found that cycling was a great way to make new friends, decompress, and see new sights. I've come to love cycling and each year am eager to "clip in" and see what new discoveries can be made.

I only started seriously cycling in 2017 as a way to get into better shape, and I’ve certainly achieved that goal! Cycling quickly became a passion for me. Finding the Hb club and the wonderful people here has only made it better. The friendship and comradery make riding a great experience that I look forward to every single time.

Bike racing became my passion in 2009, I've raced competitively all over the U.S., in Canada and Europe but I find the camaraderie and adventures with the club to be the foundation of my success. As a member of the club since 2014, I've seen it explode in all the best ways. I'm dedicated to encouraging new members and helping riders of all levels improve their cycling skills while ensuring they have fun and lots of smiles along the way.

As a kid, I lived on my BMX bike. But as I grew up and got my license, I ditched the bike for cars. After trying other forms of exercise I realized I missed riding a bicycle so I bought a bike and felt like a kid again. A few years later I joined the club and never looked back. In this club I have found motivation, camaraderie, and adventure. Whether going for an easy ride or pushing myself, one thing remains constant: there is nothing better than riding bikes with friends!

My cycling passion started with the 2014 ADA Tour De Cure metric century (62.5 miles)... more distance meant more donations but it also meant getting on a road bike for the first time. I immediately fell in love with all things CYCLING: t he challenges both mental and physical, a new family activity, new friends and the HbW and HbCC community. Skiing will always be my #1 passion but cycling is a close second.
